About
Brodrick Spencer is an accomplished educational leader and operations executive with nearly three decades of experience in school administration, nonprofit leadership, and youth development. He currently serves as Southern California Director of Operations for the William Law Foundation, where he oversees afterschool programs, childcare centers, regulatory compliance, grant development, and community partnerships. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, and raised in Long Beach, California, Spencer was shaped early by resilience and discipline. Raised by his single mother, Clara Spencer, he became a scholar-athlete, lettering in football, baseball, and basketball in high school while earning numerous All-League and All-County honors. He later competed in collegiate baseball at Jackson State University and played three years of collegiate football at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Throughout his academic journey, Spencer demonstrated leadership early—serving as 9th and 10th grade Student Government Class President and earning multiple oratory awards. His commitment to mentorship began in high school and college, setting the foundation for a lifelong dedication to youth development. Spencer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society from UC Santa Barbara and a Master of Education in Secondary Curriculum and Instruction from Howard University. He holds permanent New York State certifications as a School District Administrator and School Administrator/Supervisor, along with administrative certification from Mississippi. Over his career, Spencer has served 13 years as a secondary school principal and 8 years as an assistant principal across multiple New York districts. His leadership expanded Advanced Placement access, strengthened Regents-level instruction, launched SAT/PSAT initiatives, developed mentorship programs, and improved college readiness systems. Prior to administration, he spent 8 years teaching social studies and coaching athletics. A 35-year member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, Spencer remains deeply engaged in community service, including voter registration drives, food and clothing distribution efforts, youth mentorship programs, college tours, debate clubs, and senior citizen partnerships. His leadership philosophy is rooted in accountability, sustainability, and service. “Success is not measured by what you do for yourself,” Spencer says. “It’s measured by what you build that continues to serve others long after you’re gone.”
